Fostering A Refined Self-Image
Elegance is a personal attribute that has nothing to do with a designer label or the latest fashion trend. Elegance comes from within. Elegance is an orderly, peaceful, and calming state of mind. Modern etiquette stems from this personal elegance. At Preservation of Elegance, we believe that when natural elegance and refined etiquette are practiced regularly, you will find yourself behaving and speaking in a way that appeals to more audiences. Take a moment to learn more about our etiquette classes by reviewing our websites.

ELEGANT BEHAVIOR
Elegant behavior can apply to daily living. It is a learned awareness of how to behave appropriately in any given moment, often referred to as social etiquette. Being classy may take effort, but it can affect every aspect of your life. In time, etiquette will become as natural to you as breathing, and you will find yourself excelling in professional and social settings.

Some people believe that notions of elegance and etiquette are only fit for a certain type of person. However, anyone who wishes to refine themselves can brush up on their manners and learn to embody grace. Contact us if you would like to learn more about refining and preserving elegance in your life.
While the particular rules of manners may change from place to place and time to time, every culture and class has its own notion of what is proper behavior. Part of behaving elegantly is learning how to act appropriately and to comport yourself with dignity in every situation. We have listed a few of the everyday benefits of studying elegant behavior:
IMPROVE YOUR SELF-ESTEEM by refining the way you behave and projecting confidence. You will find that your self-esteem improves over time. The way we view ourselves may be tied to how we believe others view us. In short, don't let others define who you are. When you act with grace, you feel graceful.
REDUCE YOUR ANXIETY. It is perfectly normal to feel anxious if you don't know the proper behavior for a given scenario. By learning and practicing manners, you rehearse for these situations before they happen and prepare yourself for when they do.
FURTHER YOUR AMBITIONS: Whether you want to make more connections or advance your career, studying etiquette can help further those ambitions. Your grace and confidence will impress others and help you conduct yourself well in any circumstance.
SELF-REFINEMENT

When we concentrate on self-refinement, our natural elegance becomes evident to everyone we meet. And here is the really good news. You will notice that the previous sentence mentioned "natural elegance". We are hardwired for elegance! It is our natural instinct, but like a muscle, it must be exercised and nourished. Moreover, we are surrounded by destructive messages that try to make grace and elegance look like showing off or being arrogant. Thus, we deliberately suppress them. Yet if you are honest with yourself, you will admit there is something missing. We are here to tell you that something is elegance and grace. Our websites are designed to help you develop those qualities at your own pace. As you explore these qualities, you are invited to join our blog at www.circleofelegance.com.

MORE TO PONDER

Consider the word "elegance". What comes to mind? Ponder that question a moment. We have the following suggestions:
Beautiful, harmonious, graceful, orderly, peaceful, calming, unique, expensive (valuable), and classic. Are these qualities that you find appealing? We dare to say that the answer is "yes". So, why don't we strive to achieve these, and once achieved, shouldn't they be carefully preserved?
By contrast, it is unlikely that words like ordinary, common, haphazard, casual, clumsy, or rude come to mind.

THE VALUE OF ETIQUETTE
You have undoubtedly heard the expression that you have only one chance to make a good first impression. So, how do you want people to remember you after your first meeting? By observing proper etiquette, you can remain confident that you are doing everything you can to leave a favorable impression. Whether you are in a job interview or at dinner with a new acquaintance, knowing the rules will equip you with the skills to make a positive and lasting impact.
Of course, different settings and situations call for different kinds of etiquette. An informal office luncheon and a formal debutante ball are hardly similar, yet both are governed by certain rules and expectations.

Often, the appropriate etiquette depends on the culture of the social event's hosts. The universal essence of etiquette, however, is about showing respect. More than rules for polite table manners and how to dress for the occasion, etiquette is about displaying elegance and gratitude: a way to conduct oneself grounded in respect at a given social gathering.

We have said elsewhere that we are born seeking elegance in our lives, but we are not necessarily born with elegance. Elegance is a quality we can develop at any stage of life. In other words, it is never too late. So, if elegance is using good manners and following the rules, how can it also be individual? Quite simply, each of us is different, and our elegance can be very personal. For example, you can develop an elegant, classic wardrobe that is uniquely yours. Because it is classic and not subject to fads, it will wear well for years. Resist the temptation to buy the latest "must-have." Instead, select quality, basic garments and accessories. Make sure your garments are in good repair and fit properly. Pay attention to your posture, and you will look and feel better.

It comes down to doing the right thing at the right time for the right reason and caring about what you wear. You will make a good and lasting first impression.
